Candy and Tori Spelling

Tori Spelling says there’s between she and mother Candy Spelling, the widow to Aaron and the matriarch of the Spelling clan. But their little back-and-forth game with the press seems to suggest there’s certainly something brewing, and some of it’s called damn good PR.

Could it possibly be a coincidence that Tori’s new book, which came out this week, also comes right on the heels of a well-publicized press battle between mom and offspring? First, spoke in an interview with People about her off-again relationship with daughter Tori, saying she’d been cut out of the family.

fired back in her own interview with People, saying there’s no feud and no friction between herself and her mother. She neatly put the ball in Candy’s court, saying “if she would love to see her grandchildren, she should really make an effort to reach out and see them.”

Tori Spelling

“There’s no feud,” recently spoke out on the mother-daughter feud which has been brewing in the headlines. “We simply never meshed,” Tori says of herself and her mother Candy Spelling, Aaron Spelling’s widow.

DescriptionMaybe Mel Gibson and Britney Spears will have now have something new to bond over.

After 28 years of marriage, the Mad Max star’s wife, Robyn Moore, has filed for divorce. The papers were signed on April 9, just before the Easter weekend. According to People sources, Mel was overheard yesterday announcing the news to several parishioners of the church he had built.

Although Robyn had been seen with Gibson recently (she reportedly joined him for Palm Sunday services last weekend), friends say the two have actually been separated for three years. The 53-year-old’s infamous DUI arrest also happened three years ago on July 28.

TMZ claims the two were married without a prenuptial agreement. If that is the case, Robyn, 53, could receive 1/2 of their community property under California state law. As of 2006, her husband was reportedly worth $900 million.

Moore - whose attorney, Laura Wasser, assisted Britney Spears with her divorce -  is currently seeking joint physical and legal custody of their 9-year-old son, Thomas. (They also have six other children who are no longer minors.) She is also requesting spousal support and legal fees.

Parade magazine will soon release a “What People Earn” issue which details the income earned by Hollywood’s elite for the fiscal year of 2008, a year which was extremely rough on the finances of many average Americans.

The issue reports that Jennifer Aniston earned a hefty $27 million, which trumps the paltry $2.25 mill raked in during 2008. Taylor Swift out-earned Brit with $5.5 million, which still pales when compared to Beyonce’s stunning $80 million in earnings.

So who’s the biggest star of them all, the top earner for the year 2008? Is it , Will Smith, Donald Trump? The winner, earning the most in the last calendar year, is Mattel with a whopping $3.3 billion. Barbie - still hot after all these years. Now, that’s star power.

According to the issue, celebrity salaries trump the average American’s yearly earnings by an extreme amount: the stars earn around 115 times more money than you do. Too bad about the recession - Barbie might’ve made it up to 4 billion on the year.

DescriptionDays after being arrested on investigation of sexual assault, choreographer Alex Da Silva was released from jail.

The 41-year-old contributor was taken into custody by police last Saturday as a result of several rape allegations. Four different victims had accused the dance instructor of assault between 2003 and 2009.

Although the complainants each reported similar stories, the Los Angeles County prosecutors office has not been able to file charges due to a lack of evidence. More women have since come forth with their own stories, so the investigation is not yet closed.

No word yet what this might mean - if anything - for the next season of SYTYCD. The FOX reality series starts up again on May 21.
